ABSTRACT NUMBER: ESOC2026YS249 INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOCORRECTIONAL STRATEGIES FOR MANAGING POST-ISCHEMIC STROKE PSYCHO-EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCES
Overview
This study evaluates an 8-week integrative program combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for managing depression, anxiety, and helplessness in 30 ischemic stroke patients. Participants were randomized to receive either standard rehabilitation alone or standard rehabilitation plus the intervention, with outcomes measured using standardized scales for depression, anxiety, and locus of control. The results indicate that the experimental group experienced significantly greater reductions in depressive symptoms and state anxiety, along with a shift toward an internal locus of control, compared to the control group.
