Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy for Chronic Tinnitus in a German Tertiary Clinical Real-World Setting
Overview
This paper presents retrospective real-world data from 52 patients undergoing cognitive behavioral group therapy for chronic tinnitus in a German clinical setting between 2010 and 2019. The study reports clinically relevant reductions in distress and tinnitus loudness that persisted at a three-month follow-up, with outcomes comparable to those found in controlled trials. It also notes the need for clearer operationalization of outcome measures in psychological tinnitus interventions.
