Physiotherapy informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (PACT): protocol for a randomised controlled trial of PACT versus usual physiotherapy care for adults with chronic low back pain
Overview
This paper outlines the protocol for a multicentre randomised controlled trial comparing Physiotherapy informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (PACT) against usual physiotherapy care for adults with chronic low back pain. The study involves 240 patients recruited from NHS hospitals, who are randomised to receive either PACT or standard care and followed up at three and twelve months. The primary aim is to evaluate the efficacy of PACT on patient functioning using the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire.
