"Salteadores de Fama": Lampeão e José do Telhado, Diferentes Visões de Histórias que Atravessam o Atlântico "ROBBERS OF FAME": LAMPEÃO AND JOSÉ DO TELHADO, DIFFERENT VISIONS OF STORIES THAT CROSS THE ATLANTIC Francisco Melo Ferreira Resumo: Mais de 200 anos após o nascimento de José do Telhado, mais de 125, no caso de Lampião, a memória destes "heróis-bandidos" continua presente, por exemplo, em livros de cordel e outros livros populares, mas também na investigação. Analisamos no artigo a forma como a figura de José do Telhado se popularizou através da Literatura, incluindo a de Cordel, dando o exemplo daquele que talvez se possa considerar o maior cordelista português moderno, José d'Almeida Cardoso Jorge. Abordamos também publicações cruzadas, editadas no Brasil sobre José do Telhado e editadas em Portugal sobre Lampião. Para tentar compreender como personagens tão distintas, que viveram em épocas, geografias, ambientes sociais e económicos tão diferentes, ficaram na memória dos dois países, fazemos uma abordagem do tema da "memória coletiva", iniciado por Maurice Halbwachs e que é agora objeto de novas abordagens das ciências humanas, mas também das ciências cognitivas. Palavras-chave: José do Telhado, Lampião, heróis-bandidos, memória coletiva Abstract: More than 200 years after the birth of José do Telhado and more than 125 years after in the case of Lampião, the memory of these "bandit-heroes" is still present, for example, in cordel books and other popular books, but also in research. In the article, we analyse how the figure of José do Telhado became popular through Literature, including that of Cordel, giving the example of what can perhaps be considered the greatest modern Portuguese cordel writer, José d'Almeida Cardoso Jorge. We also address cross-publications, published in Brazil about José do Telhado and edited in Portugal about Lampião. To try to understand how such different characters, who lived in such different times, geographies, social and economic environments, remained in the memory of those from both countries, we approach the theme of "collective memory" initiated by Maurice Halbwachs and which is now the subject of new approaches in the human sciences but also in the cognitive sciences.
