Brief Web-Based Intervention for Depression: Randomized Controlled Trial on Behavioral Activation
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates a fully automated, single-module internet-based behavioral activation (iBA) intervention for individuals with mild to moderate depressive symptoms. The study compares iBA against an active mindfulness control and a care-as-usual group over four weeks, measuring changes in depression severity, activity levels, and dysfunctional attitudes. Results indicate no significant short-term difference in depressive symptom reduction between groups, though iBA was associated with increased activity and reduced dysfunctional attitudes compared to controls.
