Processes of change in a randomized clinical trial of radically open dialectical behavior therapy (RO DBT) for adults with treatment-refractory depression.
Overview
This study examines whether changes in psychological inflexibility and interpersonal functioning mediate the reduction of depressive symptoms in adults with treatment-refractory depression undergoing Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT). Using data from a randomized clinical trial, the authors analyzed mediation effects at multiple time points to determine if these mechanistic processes are linked to symptom improvement. The findings suggest that RO DBT's efficacy may be driven by improvements in psychological flexibility and interpersonal functioning.
