Emotional awareness and expression therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and education for fibromyalgia: a cluster-randomized controlled trial
Overview
This cluster-randomized trial compares emotion awareness and expression therapy (EAET) with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and fibromyalgia education for adults with the condition. The study evaluates patient-reported outcomes regarding pain severity, overall symptoms, and psychological well-being across eight treatment sessions. Results indicate that EAET outperformed education on multiple secondary measures and showed some advantages over CBT in reducing widespread pain.
