Randomized Trial of a Tailored Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Mobile Application for Anxiety in Patients with Incurable Cancer
Overview
This randomized trial evaluates a tailored cognitive-behavioral therapy mobile application for managing anxiety in 145 patients with incurable cancer. Participants were assigned to either the CBT app or a mobile health education control program over a 12-week period, with outcomes measured via standardized scales for anxiety, depression, and quality of life. The study reports that while both groups showed improvements, the CBT app demonstrated significantly greater benefits specifically for patients with severe baseline anxiety.
