Efficacy of transdiagnostic cognitive-behavioral therapy for assertiveness: A randomized controlled trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates an eight-week internet-based cognitive-behavioral intervention designed to enhance assertiveness across various diagnoses. The study compares therapist-guided and unguided self-help formats against a wait-list control group among 210 participants, measuring outcomes such as adaptive assertiveness, social anxiety, and well-being at post-treatment and one-year follow-up. Results indicate that both treatment conditions yielded statistically significant improvements in adaptive assertiveness and related secondary measures compared to the control group.
