How collaboration in therapy becomes therapeutic: The therapeutic collaboration coding system
Overview
This paper introduces the Therapeutic Collaboration Coding System (TCCS), a tool designed to analyze therapist-client interactions moment-by-moment within the context of dialectical behavior therapy. The authors propose a conceptual framework linking therapeutic collaboration to client progress and present preliminary psychometric evidence for the system. The resource is intended for researchers and clinicians interested in tracking relationship dynamics and understanding how collaboration functions across different therapy outcomes.
