Depression and mental health in late adolescents: the sequential mediating roles of quality of life and sleep regularity
Overview
This study examines the statistical associations between depression, quality of life, sleep regularity, and mental health in a cross-sectional sample of 487 late adolescents. Using structural equation modeling, the authors identify that quality of life partially mediates the relationship between depression and both sleep regularity and mental health, with a significant sequential mediation effect observed through these combined pathways. The resource is intended for researchers or clinicians interested in psychosocial correlates of adolescent depression, though the authors caution that the cross-sectional design limits causal interpretation.
