Internet-Delivered Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Added to Multimodal Pain Rehabilitation: A Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial
Overview
This cluster randomized controlled trial examines the effects of adding internet-delivered Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (IACT) to multimodal pain rehabilitation in specialist care for chronic pain patients. The study reports medium to large treatment effects on pain acceptance, psychological inflexibility, self-efficacy, and affective distress at post-treatment and follow-up intervals. It also notes extensive dropout rates across the intervention and aftercare phases.
