A digital cognitive behavioral therapy program culturally adapted for Spanish-speaking individuals with alcohol use disorder: a stage 1 randomized clinical trial
Overview
This randomized clinical trial evaluates the feasibility and efficacy of CBT4CBT-SA, a culturally adapted digital cognitive behavioral therapy program for Spanish-speaking individuals with alcohol use disorder. The study involved 51 participants assigned to either standard outpatient treatment or standard treatment plus the web-based program, measuring outcomes such as days of abstinence over eight weeks and follow-up intervals. Results indicated that among treatment completers, those receiving the digital intervention showed greater increases in abstinence compared to the control group, though no significant difference was found in the full sample. The resource is intended for researchers and clinicians interested in culturally adapted digital mental health interventions.
