Perioperative psycho-oncological intervention is associated with reduced psychological distress in women with breast and gynecological cancers: a prospective study
Overview
This prospective study examines the association between a short-term perioperative psycho-oncological intervention and psychological distress in 95 women with breast or gynecological cancers. The resource describes an integrated approach combining cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and guided imagery across three to six sessions. It reports observed reductions in anxiety, depression, PTSD symptoms, and increases in self-esteem, noting that factors such as attachment style and socio-demographics influenced outcomes.
