Comparison of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) On the Severity of Fatigue, Improvement of Sleep Quality and Resilience in a Patient with Prostate Cancer: A Single-Case Experimental Study
Overview
This single-case experimental study compares Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for a 64-year-old male prostate cancer patient undergoing androgen deprivation therapy. The research evaluates the impact of these third-wave interventions on fatigue severity, sleep quality, and resilience using a reversed design with baseline and follow-up phases. Results indicate that both therapies were effective in improving these psychological indices during treatment, though changes did not persist at the six-month follow-up.
