Neural Mechanisms of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Chronic Pain: A Network-Based fMRI Approach
Overview
This study investigates the neural mechanisms of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for chronic pain using fMRI data from nine women with musculoskeletal pain. It examines changes in functional connectivity within self-reflection, emotion, and cognitive control networks before and after a four-week intervention. The research correlates these neurobiological shifts with behavioral outcomes measured by validated psychological scales.
