Online acceptance and commitment therapy as treatment for loneliness among older adults: Report of a pilot study
Overview
This pilot study evaluates a self-paced, online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program designed to reduce loneliness in community-dwelling adults aged 65 and older. The resource details an intervention delivered to 529 participants, assessing changes in loneliness levels at pre-treatment, post-treatment, and one-month follow-up intervals. It reports statistical findings regarding the feasibility of the digital format and the magnitude of symptom reduction among completers compared to a hold-out group.
