The effects of mindfulness meditation on burnout in clinical genetic counselors: A three‐arm randomized controlled trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial examines the impact of mindfulness meditation on burnout among clinical genetic counselors in the United States. The study compares an eight-week mindfulness intervention against both a novel active control meditation and a no-meditation control group, measuring outcomes such as professional fulfillment and stress. While the primary comparison between meditation types yielded inconclusive results due to control group performance, secondary analyses indicate that mindfulness meditation significantly reduced burnout and stress compared to the passive control.
