Reducing stress and promoting well-being in healthcare workers using mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for life
Overview
This paper presents the results of the first randomized controlled trial evaluating Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life (MBCT-L) among NHS healthcare workers. The study assessed whether the intervention could reduce self-reported stress and improve secondary outcomes such as well-being, depression, and anxiety compared to a wait-list control group. It also explored mindfulness and compassion as potential mechanisms underlying these effects.
