Mindfulness as a Treatment for Behavioural Addiction
Overview
This paper reviews empirical and clinical evidence to propose the application of mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP) to non-chemical, or behavioral, addictions. It builds on previous arguments regarding MBRP's effectiveness for substance use relapse and notes the growing acceptance of mindfulness among general practitioners. The resource is intended for readers interested in the theoretical extension of mindfulness interventions beyond chemical dependencies.
