An Investigation of the Effects of the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Groups on the Cognitive Strategies of Emotion Regulation and Self-Control in Coronary Heart Disease Patients
Overview
This quasi-experimental study examines the impact of group-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on emotion regulation and self-control in coronary heart disease patients. It compares pre- and post-intervention scores for an experimental group receiving eight sessions of ACT against a control group using standard questionnaires. The results indicate significant improvements in cognitive emotion regulation strategies, but no significant change in self-control levels.
