The impact of compassion-focused therapy on positive and negative mental health outcomes: Results of a series of meta-analyses.
Overview
This paper presents a series of meta-analyses evaluating the efficacy of Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) across 47 controlled trials involving nearly 8,000 participants. The authors report that CFT is associated with reductions in negative mental health outcomes, depression, and self-criticism, as well as improvements in self-compassion. The resource targets researchers and clinicians interested in the aggregate evidence for this therapeutic modality.
