Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in Generalized Anxiety Disorder: A Randomized, Controlled Trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial compares the outcomes of short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy for patients with generalized anxiety disorder. The study found that both interventions produced significant improvements in anxiety and depression symptoms, with no overall difference in primary outcomes. However, cognitive-behavioral therapy demonstrated superiority in reducing trait anxiety, worry, and depression specifically.
