Coach-Assisted eHealth With Group or Individual Support for Employees With Obesity: Randomized Controlled Trial on Weight, Body Composition, and Health Metrics
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates whether adding three coach-led group or individual sessions to a web-administered, acceptance and commitment therapy-based eHealth program improves weight loss and health metrics for employees with obesity. The study compared an eHealth-only arm against two hybrid arms over 24 months in a sample of 111 Finnish municipal employees. Results indicated no significant differences between the groups regarding weight change or secondary outcomes, though modest improvements in body composition were observed across the entire sample.
