The effects of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on psychological and physical outcomes among cancer patients and survivors: An umbrella review
Overview
This umbrella review synthesizes eight systematic reviews and meta-analyses to evaluate the efficacy of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for cancer patients and survivors. The resource reports that ACT interventions are associated with improved health-related quality of life, increased psychological flexibility, and reduced depression, anxiety, and psychological distress. It also notes larger effects among younger patients, individuals from specific Eastern countries, and following longer intervention durations.
