Online Self-Help as an Add-On to Inpatient Psychotherapy: Efficacy of a New Blended Treatment Approach
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates a blended treatment approach that combines an evidence-based online self-help program with inpatient psychodynamic psychotherapy for 229 depressed patients. The study measures outcomes such as depressive symptoms, anxiety, quality of life, and self-esteem at discharge and after the intervention period. Results indicate statistically significant improvements in these areas for the group receiving the online self-help component compared to an active control group.
