Psychological flexibility mediates change in intuitive eating regulation in acceptance and commitment therapy interventions
Overview
This secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial examines whether psychological flexibility mediates changes in intuitive eating and weight among overweight or obese adults participating in acceptance and commitment therapy. The study compares face-to-face group and individual mobile interventions against a control group, finding that enhanced psychological flexibility mediated improvements in eating behaviors for both ACT formats. The resource is intended for researchers and clinicians interested in the mechanisms of change within ACT-based lifestyle interventions.
