Dismantling motivational interviewing and feedback for college drinkers: A randomized clinical trial.
Overview
This randomized clinical trial investigates the specific contributions of motivational interviewing (MI) and feedback components in reducing heavy drinking among college students. The study compares outcomes across four groups: web feedback only, MI without feedback, MI with feedback, and assessment only. Results indicate that the combination of MI and feedback significantly reduced drinking at six months compared to other conditions, while neither component alone showed significant effects.
