The Effectiveness of Self-Compassion-Focused Therapy on Cognitive Vulnerability to Depression
Overview
This study investigates the impact of self-compassion-focused therapy on cognitive vulnerability to depression among non-depressed university students with high cognitive susceptibility. The research involved a randomized controlled trial with 40 participants, comparing an experimental group receiving eight sessions of therapy against a control group. Results indicate that the therapy significantly reduced cognitive vulnerability, dysfunctional attitudes, and negative attribution styles while increasing self-esteem.
