Effectiveness of Compassionate Mind Training on Depression, Anxiety, and Self-Criticism in a Group of Iranian Depressed Patients
Overview
This study evaluates the impact of Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) on depression, anxiety, and self-criticism among 19 Iranian patients with depression. Participants were divided into an experimental group receiving 12 sessions of CMT and a control group receiving no intervention, with outcomes measured via standardized questionnaires at baseline, post-intervention, and two-month follow-up. The results indicate that CMT significantly reduced depression and anxiety scores at the two-month follow-up, though immediate effects were not significant, while the reduction in self-criticism was marginally insignificant.
