Effectiveness of the acceptance and commitment therapy for resilience promotion in a non-clinical sample: A randomized controlled and a pilot study
Overview
This pilot study examines the impact of a six-session Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program on resilience, self-compassion, and psychological flexibility in 89 non-clinical high school students. The research compares an intervention group to a control group using standardized scales to measure changes in these psychological constructs. While results indicate significant improvements in the ACT group, the authors note that the small sample size and baseline differences require cautious interpretation.
