The effect of an acceptance and commitment therapy-based self-compassion program on self-compassion and psychological flexibility in mothers
Overview
This study examines an eight-session ACT-based self-compassion psychoeducation program for mothers of non-working children aged 4–6. Using a quasi-experimental design with 30 participants, the research measured changes in self-compassion and psychological flexibility before, during, and after the intervention. Results indicated significant increases in these areas for the experimental group compared to controls, supported by qualitative reports of improved emotional awareness and daily application.
