Effectiveness of village doctors led cognitive behavioral therapy for COPD patients in a randomized controlled trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial examines the efficacy of group cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) delivered by village doctors to reduce anxiety and depression in community-dwelling COPD patients. The study compares outcomes between participants receiving CBT plus usual care versus usual care alone over a six-month period. Results indicate that the intervention group experienced lower symptom scores and improved quality of life metrics compared to the control group, with no significant difference observed in lung function measures.
