The Effect of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on Depression, Anxiety, and Stress in Patients With COVID-19: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial investigates the impact of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on depression, anxiety, and stress levels in patients hospitalized for COVID-19. The study compares outcomes between a group receiving routine care plus CBT and a control group receiving only routine care, utilizing the DASS-21 scale for assessment. Results indicate that while both groups experienced reductions in psychological distress, the intervention group showed greater decreases in mean scores. The abstract also notes associations between chronic disease status and hospital stay length with changes in symptom severity.
