Evaluating the effectiveness of a focused CBT training for panic disorder: a randomized parallel trial
Overview
This randomized trial compares focused cognitive behavioral therapy against treatment as usual for panic disorder within UK NHS services. The study reports that participants receiving focused CBT experienced significantly greater reductions in panic severity than those in the control group. It also explores whether approach-supporting behaviors influence outcomes, finding that safety-seeking behaviors at treatment end predicted changes in severity.
