The contributions of focused attention and open monitoring in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for affective disturbances: A 3-armed randomized dismantling trial
Overview
This randomized dismantling trial compares the effects of focused attention, open monitoring, and their combination in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on affective disturbances in individuals with depression and anxiety. The study evaluates short- and long-term outcomes using standardized symptom scales to assess differential treatment effects across three intervention groups. Results indicate that while all treatments produced improvements, they differed in the speed of response and patterns of symptom deterioration over time.
