Nightmare Frequency, Nightmare Distress and the Efficiency of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Overview
This study investigates whether pre-treatment nightmare frequency affects the efficacy of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for 71 individuals with PTSD. The results indicate that while nightmares did not hinder overall symptom reduction, specific therapeutic components successfully reduced nightmare frequency and distress. The resource is a research paper aimed at clinicians or researchers interested in treatment outcomes for PTSD patients with comorbid nightmares.
