The role of internet-based therapies in adolescents’ quality of life: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Overview
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the impact of internet-based interventions on the quality of life in adolescents aged 10–19 years. The authors analyzed five randomized controlled trials involving 323 participants, comparing digital therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness against standard care or no treatment. The results indicate a small, non-significant overall effect, with subgroup analyses suggesting that shorter interventions may offer modest improvements while longer ones show inconsistent outcomes. The resource concludes that findings should be interpreted with caution due to substantial heterogeneity and a limited number of studies.
