Working mechanisms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: a dynamic network approach
Overview
This study uses dynamic network analysis to compare the working mechanisms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for major depressive disorder in 82 patients. It examines temporal relationships between depressive symptoms and treatment-related constructs like experiential avoidance and decentering across multiple time points. The findings suggest distinct patterns of change within each therapy arm, highlighting the role of symptom alleviation in activating psychological shifts.
