Fostering Self‐Compassion and Loving‐Kindness in Patients With Borderline Personality Disorder: A Randomized Pilot Study
Overview
This randomized pilot study examines the effects of a three-week loving-kindness and compassion meditation program on patients with borderline personality disorder compared to a mindfulness control group. The authors report that participants in the intervention group experienced greater improvements in acceptance, self-criticism, self-kindness, and borderline symptom severity. The resource discusses mechanistic explanations and therapeutic implications for integrating these practices into dialectical behavior therapy.
