Behavioral Activation and Depression Symptomatology: Longitudinal Assessment of Linguistic Indicators in Text-Based Therapy Sessions
Overview
This study examines how linguistic indicators of planning and participation in enjoyable activities, derived from online text-based therapy sessions, relate to depression symptomatology over time. The research analyzes language from 10,000 patients using LIWC categories to assess activation markers alongside established depression indicators. It suggests that these novel linguistic measures complement existing markers in explaining variance in patient depression scores.
