Mental Health Promotion as a New Goal in Public Mental Health Care: A Randomized Controlled Trial of an Intervention Enhancing Psychological Flexibility
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates a group intervention based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness for 93 adults with mild to moderate psychological distress. The study measures changes in emotional, psychological, and social well-being alongside psychological flexibility at post-intervention and three-month follow-up. Results indicate that participants in the intervention group experienced greater improvements in well-being and psychological flexibility compared to a waiting-list control group.
