Group metacognitive therapy for children and adolescents with anxiety and depression: A preliminary trial and test of proposed mechanisms
Overview
This paper reports on a preliminary trial of group metacognitive therapy for 97 children and adolescents aged 10–17 with anxiety and depressive disorders. The study assessed symptom reduction and investigated whether changes in cognitive attentional syndrome, metacognitive beliefs, and perceived attention control mediated treatment effects. It is intended for researchers or clinicians interested in the feasibility and proposed mechanisms of this intervention.
