Effectiveness of Group Psychotherapy Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on Difficultes Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance in Substance Abusers
Overview
This 2017-18 quasi-experimental study evaluated the impact of group Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on emotion regulation difficulties and distress tolerance among 40 substance abusers in Kermanshah. The research compared an experimental group receiving ten ACT sessions against a control group using pre-test, post-test, and three-month follow-up assessments. Results indicated that the intervention significantly reduced emotional regulation difficulties and increased distress tolerance compared to baseline and control conditions.
