Development of a Storytelling Video Self-Help Intervention Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Major Depression: Open Trial Results
Overview
This paper reports on an open trial evaluating LifeStories, a video self-help intervention using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles to help individuals with major depressive disorder. The study involved 11 participants who watched videos of peers describing coping strategies, resulting in high satisfaction and engagement levels. Results indicated significant improvements in self-reported depressive symptoms and mindfulness at week eight, alongside a large effect size for depression severity reduction compared to baseline.
