Acceptance and commitment therapy as a web-based intervention for depressive symptoms: Randomised controlled trial
Overview
This randomized controlled trial evaluates the efficacy of a guided web-based acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) intervention for adults with depressive symptoms. The study compares ACT against an expressive writing control and a waiting-list group, measuring outcomes via the Center for Epidemiological Studies - Depression scale. Results indicate significant symptom reduction in the ACT group compared to controls, with effects sustained at six and twelve-month follow-ups.
