“Skills for pills”: The dialectical‐behavioural therapy skills training reduces polypharmacy in borderline personality disorder
Overview
This retrospective observational study examines whether dialectical-behavioral therapy skills training (DBT-ST) reduces polypharmacy among 377 patients with borderline personality disorder. The research compares medication changes in 182 DBT-ST participants against a control group of 195 individuals over a ten-year period. It reports significant reductions in overall medication load and specific drug classes, such as benzodiazepines, for the intervention group.
