Bridging the Gap: A Secondary Data Analysis of Implementation Outcomes and Symptom Trajectories of an eHealth Mental Health and Parenting Treatment Among Mothers With and Without At-Risk Substance Use
Overview
This secondary data analysis examines the Building Emotional Awareness and Mental Health (BEAM) eHealth program among mothers of infants and toddlers, comparing those with and without at-risk substance use. The study evaluates implementation metrics such as retention, adherence, and perceived usefulness, alongside mental health and parenting stress symptom trajectories over time. Results indicate that while treatment adherence and safety benchmarks were met for both groups, retention was a significant barrier for all participants. The findings suggest that mothers with at-risk substance use can safely engage with the program, though future iterations may need to prioritize retention strategies.
