Cognitive-Behavioural therapy and interpersonal psychotherapy for the treatment of post-natal depression: a narrative review
Overview
This narrative review examines the efficacy of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for post-natal depression by synthesizing data from six systematic reviews and fifteen randomized controlled trials. The authors analyze treatment parameters, noting that CBT can be delivered individually or in groups by both experts and non-experts, with effectiveness observed up to six months post-intervention. The resource also explores the potential of virtual reality as a therapeutic modality, concluding it has not yet been used for this condition but may warrant future pilot studies.
