Which therapy works best for maternal depressive symptoms? A network meta-analysis of psychotherapeutic interventions
Overview
This network meta-analysis compares the efficacy of various psychotherapeutic interventions for reducing maternal depressive symptoms, focusing on randomized controlled trials published between 2021 and 2025. The study includes data from eight trials involving 2,919 participants and evaluates outcomes using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Results indicate that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the only intervention showing a statistically significant reduction in symptoms compared to treatment as usual among the approaches examined.
